Sorry that the web site remained stagnant while I was away last year. I now rededicate myself to continuing to improve it.

Look for the new-and-improved George Jetsons web site to relaunch at the beginning of our first game week, [b]February 26th[/b]. Many long-requested-but-not-yet-implemented features will be added, as well as some new ones.

I had ambitious plans and did not get around to implementing all of them. For example, the web site will still not bring you a beer. Still, there are still some nice new features for you to enjoy on most of the pages at gjsoftball.net:

On the main home page, you'll find a table of the season-by-season history of the team. I used to manually produce this table for the season recap at the end of each season. Now it is automatically generated from the database.

The Career Stats page gains a very-long-requested feature: You can now sort the Offensive Statistics table by category! Just click the category heading at the top of a column. I tried to implement this request long ago and the hang-up was how to handle non-qualifiers when you sort by a percentage category. I finally figured out a way to lump the non-qualifiers into "Others." Did you know that Wellner led the team in batting in 2006 (select Seasons 16-18) with a .649 average?

There are no new features on the Seasons page, just a slightly different layout. But, I'll take this opportunity to point out that the playoff games for [url=http://gjsoftball.net/season.php?seasonid=18]Season 18[/url] have been entered into the system, so that season's stats are complete.

This page still looks like crap and remains in need of a major face lift. But, you can now see the score sheet for EVERY game in George Jetsons history. That's right...all 226 score sheets have been scanned in!

There's a reason that every professional site out there from Yahoo! to MLB.com uses some variation of this layout: It's the best way to look at a player's stats!
